I hope you all enjoyed this easy nut cheese recipe for vegan cheese week. It can substitute for cheese you have on a cheese board, cheddar cheese, pepper jack and American cheese.
I’ve listed a couple tips for this recipe as well 🙂
1. Agar mixture can overflow, so keep a close watch.
2. Soak cashews overnight. It will make them grind into a smoother paste.
3. Use a high powered blender and not necessarily a food processor.
4. If mixture starts setting, put it back into the microwave to melt.
Vegan Nut Cheese
(Makes 4-5 ramekins) from EssentialVegan
1 + 3/4 cups unsweetened soya milk (or non-dairy milk)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons agar powder
1/2 cup cashew nut, soak overnight
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
Handful of thyme
2 tablespoons white miso
1 tablespoon lemon juice
